Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare your baking pan. If you are using a loaf pan spray the pan with cooking spray and line it with parchment paper. If you are using a nonstick bundt pan spray the pan with cooking or baking spray.
I make this recipe in my stand mixer, if you do not have a stand mixer an electric hand mixer will work well.
In a small bowl sift together the flour, salt and baking soda.
Place the butter and sugar in your mixing bowl and mix on medium until the ingredients are creamy. Add the bananas and sour cream and continue to mix until they are blended well and a smooth mixture. Next add the beaten eggs and vanilla.
While the mixer is running, add in the flour mixture, ⅓ of the mixture at a time. When the flour mixture is incorporated, add one cup of chocolate chips. Turn off your mixer and pour the batter into your prepared pan making sure to evenly distribute the batter.
Place your pan in the center of the middle shelf of your preheated oven and bake 50-60 minutes for a single loaf pan or 35-40 minutes if you are using a bundt pan. Your banana chocolate chip masterpiece is done when a toothpick comes out clean in the center of your loaf.
Let the bread cool on a cooling rack for 10 minutes before removing it from the pan. If you are using a bundt pan cool the bread for 10 minutes, place a cooling rack on the bundt pan and flip it over to easily remove it from the pan.
The final step is to keep your family away from the bread until it is warm to the touch and slice. This is the hardest part because everyone starts circling the kitchen when they smell the bread. Enjoy!!
